Look busy, Kenny is coming. My Bumper Sticker |
Ok, here's the deal, there was an updated on thursday, in fact, there were two. However my host decided they didn't want me to be able to FTP all night long, so I was unable to make the changes. Now I'm at home, and don't have the changes on this computer, so I will be posting this now, then on Sunday night, my host willing, putting thursday nights posts back in below this one. If all goes well that is. By they way, they were two very high quality posts, so you'll want to be sure you come back and read both of them. Here's some advice Bill Gates recently dished out at a high school speech about 11 things they did not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a full generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. RULE
1- Life is not fair-get used to it. I'm stil having a bit of trouble believing Bill Gates came up with all of this on his own. I wonder who got an extra million dollars this year to write it for him... |

The pic is a link by the way... Kenny |
It's been over five hours since I initally spilled water on my keyboard and mouse, and after opening both up and drying them out and then letting them air dry things seem to be almost 100% normal again. The entry below is of course an example of what typing was like before the air dry session. Believe it or not... that was after it had gotten a slight bit better too. Now on to more important news. I recieved my Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2001 Issue yesterday. I must say I'm impressed but not in awe. Te past two years have been amazing. The 3D was a great idea, and nice... and of course who can forget the body paint issue, not me. It was inevitable I suppose, not even SI could keep up that level of intensity forever. This year's "special section" features the models painted to resemble stone and bronze and copper statues of greek goddesses. The painting is nice and they really do look statue-like however they are still wearing swim-suits...that just doesnt' compare to body paint only. I of course don't really pay attention to any of those pictures anyway, I buy it for the articles. Which is rather ironc. The swimsuit issue probablly gets "read" less than any other issue, however it contains some of the best writing. I mean it has too. Why else would the writers even waste their time if they weren't going to make it good. It's got to take entertaining writing to compete with the rest of the content, and therefore some of the best writing you'll ever find in and issue of SI is seldem read. I do, by the way, read all the articles...but not necessarily first. |

Look busy, Jesus is coming. Bumper Sticker |
It's a damn shame. Eminem was robbed. He deserved the grammy for the best album of the year. It's a fact. I don't care if you don't like his lyrics, that's not the point. The fact is he topped all the charts during 2000, that alone should win it...but he also sold over eight million copies of the award-winning The Marshall Mathers LP. Not only did it deserve it, the other grammys given out this evening almost proved that he did deserve it. Even though Eminem himself recived only two grammys of his own, he was involved in, or in some way connected to a total of four. One of those was Dr. Dre Producer of the year. Of the ten songs listed that he was nominated for producing, six included Eminem, and of those six, four were only Eminem. Yes, all the evidence is there. The only reason Eminem didn't win album of the year is because people don't like him, and they let that affect their judgement. His music is genius. Chris Rock said it himself, "You know the end is near. The best golfer is black, and the best rapper is white." |

When somone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown- but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and wack them in the head. Unknown |
Apparently someone forgot to the the University of Louisville that today is a holiday. The banks are closed, the post office is closed--which means I have to wait an extra day to get my new graphics card--high schools are closed, middle schools are closed, hmmm...see the pattern here? Why did I have classes? Apparently this day devoted to two of the greatest men in American history become unimportant when you reach the age of 18 and then on until you finish college--unless you are in college and work at one of the afore mentioned facilities, in which case you get half of the day off. Now that we've covered that, I would like to focus my attention on the quote that appears to the left, yes right there in the next cell in the purple text. Well it's purple if you're using IE anything, but if you're using Netscape you're pretty much screwed anyway so just try to keep up with me here. OK it think it is true that frowning does take approximately 40 muscles or so, the "only 4 muscles" part disturbs me slightly. I'm quite sure it take more that 4 to extend and wack ect. I'm sure ther's bicep, tricep, those two in the lower arm, that right there is four...and there must be shoulder and chest muscle action...and some wrist and hand action as well. But however inaccurate it may be, I still think it's funny in some crude inaccurate way. |

Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains? Unknown |
Yeah, here we go. The indecision has begun. With spring break looming right around the corner I still have not decided if I'm taking my computer home with me or not. Christmas was a no-brainer, I mean a whole month without my compter, impossible. A week, however, that's hostile ground. I survived Thanksgiving without it but this will be twice as long. At one point in time I had considered just taking 128MB of my RAM and putting it in my parents computer for the week, but not only is that not great, but also cruel to my family who would be dropped back down to a mere 64Meg after I left, I just don't have the heart to do that to them. I've often wanted to be on "Who Wants to be a Millionare" because...well because I want to be a millionare. Anyway, I was reading one day about how you become a contestant and not only do you have to be smart ya know, and win the phone thing, but you also get interviewed so they can check out your personality to see if you'll clique with Regis. I think that during this interview they should figure out if you actually have personality. This woman on there right now is the dullest person I've ever seen on the show, well except for some of those shows with the Olympic athletes--they're athletes, those are the people we don't want representing our smart people, think about that in four years--You know, personality could be over-rated, let's just make sure the contestants are attractive. Oh what's that, yes I think it is; strike two. Where did they find this woman? She doesn't even play fast...she's only on the $4,000 question, so not only do I have to look at her, I have to look at her for a long time, because she's a computer programmer...she's smart...she's not leaving anytime soon. Dammit. |

I hate rain. Today Carl and I were trying to get some girl's car running agiain, we drove around Louisville looking for an autoparts store, found one, bought an 80 amp fuse then went back to UofL replaced the fuse...in the rain...tried to start the car, still not working...we hooked up jumper cables to my car...not thinking it would help, but that it couldn't hurt...after about two hours of working and driving we decided it was something beyond the scope of our parking-lot abilities and gave up. So as far as I know her car still doesn't run, and i'm a bit wetter due to it. I hope it's not raining tomorrow, I hate walking around campus in the rain, it's not enjoyable...I was about to go get some food before "Ed" came on NBC, but then I looked outside and realized it was still raining harder than I thought it was, so I decided not to go. Rain overtakes my hunger, boy I better hope I never get stranded in Seattle, I'd die. |

Spring break takes place during the winter. Is that legal? Kenny |
Less than four weeks to go. It'a amazing how fast time has gone by since starting college. It feels like I've only been here a month, like I've only know everyone for a week, but it's been almost six months. Sometimes it goes too fast, other times not fast enough, and strangely enough, sometimes...especially test times...it seems like it's both. OK, so just a few weeks ago I heard Napster was going to start charging it's users this summer...I was pissed at first, but was begining to accept the idea, then today, I learned something new, something appauling, napster is now being forced to shut-down. Read about it in detail here. So, yeah, this is bad news. Of course it seems this is all similar to what happend last summer when napster was "being forced to shut down" so who knows what the future may hold, but until then, everyone get on napster so I can get all your music. |

There I am, in all my glory, well most of it anyway. Go here and make yourself now. Well I've really been having a hard time lately since the place I get all my pictures has gone down. I've been scouring the web looking for images to use, and it's crazy. I used to be able to type in anyword, and find several to hundreds of relavant images. I really miss that. Well on my second bottle of Mt. Dew I recieved Jacksonville State University in Alabama..big-time contendor. oh yeah. Then on my third...a bit of redemption...I won a free 20oz. beverage with the purchase of the same...of course I dont' see why I have to buy another one, I already bought 4. |

Has anyone else noticed that the song Counting Blue Cars by Dishwalla starts almost the same way that We Are by Vertical Horizon. Hmmm...it's just me I guess. Some time ago some of you may remember that I had decided to write a book, well I started, and then stoped...then wrote like a paragraph, then stopped again...now I've decided to start again, but it will be random, the thoughts may not necessarily flow into each other like they were meant to. And there will be zero editing...none. Gosh, no one would ever buy that, it will be like the world's longest E/N post printed out. No, but when it is a book, it will be written in one of those notebooks like kevin spacey used in "Seven" Yes, that will be good. I like those, but I don't want to write each copy of the book by hand, but I want it to be hand written...hmm...robots...no...bad idea, oh well, I've got plenty of time to work it all out. |

What the hell were they thinking? Kenny |
I guess some of you have seen this already, but for me it hits a little deeper. Although I am not originally from the great state of Kentucky (I'm from Baltimore, MD) when I see things like this, I still feel a bit ashamed that I live with people like this. A person made up a $200 bill with a picture of George W. Bush on one side and the White House on the other. The bill was used successfully at a Dairy Queen in Danville Kentucky. A $2 meal was paid for with this bill and the cashier gave the person $198 in change. What kind of people are living and working in Kentucky? I guess
this speaks poorly for Kentucky in the eyes of the nation. I would however
like to take a moment to point out some of the good things about the
place I like to call home. |

Another day of early wake-up calls. It's really startin to piss me off now. I was awoken this morning by knocking...at about 9:30, this time I opened the door to some girl who said the guys are coming...I looked out and saw guys carying the conduit for the ethernet wires. So I assumed -- my first mistake -- that they would be at our room shortly, so I got dressed, and laid on top of my bed since I had nothing better to do...waiting for the guys, well, by they time I left for class at 10:50 they still hadn't come. When I got back here after class with my lunch...still no guys. Not until after my 1:00-1:50 class did I come back and find the so called "guys" in my room--making a whole lot of noise. So they're putting all this crap in, and then about an hour and a half after they had been here...they decide the pipe wont' fit, the holes they made in the wall on monday are too small. Damn. so they took down what they had already managed to fit up there and left. We all know what this means, wake up call tomorrow... See now it's just getting stupid and I don't like it. |

Well I found some stuff out yesterday that I have to do in Hopkinsville on Saturday, so I'll be goin home again this weekend...which is fine with me...I enjoy have time off and away from school...so it's all good...I think Smiley and I will probably see O Brother Where Art Thou on Friday...Clooney won a Golden Globe for it, so it must be good....hmmm...yeah. Good week so far, classes are going as good as always, I got back my first macroeconomics test yesterday, on which I did very well...7 points above the class average that is. So that's going good. Sometimes things just suck and there's nothing you can do about it. This morning I had class at 11:00AM and Carl had class at 1:00PM, so I was planning on getting up around 10 and him around 11...well at 9:00 or so, I heard a faint knock on the door... I continued on in my almost sleeping state, hoping they would go away..but about a minute later I hear a key in the door. It was Jennifer, our RD...she's was like...oh...ummm..you're sleeping..well the men are coming to make the holes in the wall for the ethernet so you'll have to move you beds...then like 39 seconds later they were there and we were up...moving our beds... Now for the bad part... we have to put up with all this crap and chances are good it won't even be done before the semester is over. All this stuff we have to put up with and we get no benefit from it at all. Yes, sometimes life sucks, or at least gives you a good lick. hmmm....ya know what I mean. |

OK, so as of now, I'm still looking for some affordable hosting for my new site...by affordable of course, I'm referring to free. If anyone can help me in locating such a place that offers free hosting for existing domin names with no ads or banners, please let me know!! So, that's enough cries for mercy for now. A bit later today I'm going to a "Bowl of Super" party, it should be enjoyable. I was looking in the paper this moring, and saw that the giants are favored over the Ravens 10-6. What the hell is that??? The Giants are goin down...you hear me??...down. Baltimore is where it's at, and they're in to win. (God I can't believe I actually said "...is where's it's at, and they're in to win.") I still hold on, believing that my beloved Titans will somehow win--hey, stranger things have happend...I can't think of any rite now, but I'm sure they have. I went to Nashville last night with Smiley to see Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon on their IMAX screen. If you have not yet seen this movie, I'm telling you now...see it at least once before you die. I swear to you you will be truly amazed. There were things in this move that even The Matrix can't touch. I know that may be hard to believe, trust me I love The Matrix, and as far as concept and story are concerned, it's by far better...but the fighting, and the action which made the matrix so amazing...the fighting and the action in C.T.H.D. are that much more amazing. After the first fight sceen, you could hear mumbles in the crowd then I heard one sharp concise comment coming from the seat next to me over the rest: Damn. People laughed, but it was true. The entire movie is in a lanuguage that I can't remember the name of rite now...possibley manderin....so it's all subtitles, but once you get accoustomed to reading them, it's not a problem. So I'm tellin you, see it before you die. And you too will be saying only one thing: Damn. |

I was just thinking about something else I did this weekend. After seeing Snatch with people...such as, Byron, Smiley, Brad, Craig, and Angela, we came back to Rville. After Brad and Byron departed Smiley and Angela decided that we needed to go to the ghost train. Now I was up for it, so we drove towards Adairville, and they told me where to turn and everything, so we get there, and it's this road, that's gotta be at least five miles long of perfectly straight level road...very nice...but supposedly you can see the light of the ghost train coming straight for you. OK now after we went and saw nothing, I began thinking...first of all, why would the ghost train be on a road? A road that doesn't even cross any train tracks? Shouldn't there be some logic behind the myth? I guess not...apparently some train just decided to run on a road one night, so now you can see it's ghost...that must be how it goes. Oh yeah, also be sure to check this out, it's really good. |

Car problems galore. Last weekend, as in January 12th-ish, my spedometer stopped telling me how fast I was going. This, for those of you who don't drive is both an asset, and umm...something that's not an asset. First it's good if you're ever driving with my mom, then she can't look over your shoulder and comment on your speed. But it's bad if you get pulled over for speeding...of course I thought it would be funny if I had gotten pulled over and the cop would be like, "Son, do you know how fast you were going back there?" "No sir, I can honestly say that I have no clue." Yeah, that would be nice....that would, of coures, all happen after I said "Is there a problem officer?" Yeah, so that was ok...my car still ran, so I could still drive...I used my GPS to track my speed. Then friday...friday being january 19th...after a two hour+ drive to Rville...my car breaks down about a mile from my house...so I call my aunt to come pick me up...then have it towed at like 4:45PM...and get a part orderd that would be there today...alas no car to drive back to The Big L-ville. We all know what that means...yes that's right, you guessed it...Suburban. Oh yeah. Ahh, I almost forgot, I saw annother movie over the weekend...Snatch...all I have to say is, go see it. Now. |

There's a lot of naked in this bed. heard around campus... |
Before I begin, I'd like to thank Angela for sending me the quote I used yesterday. As I was searching for something to use, she just happened to send that, not knowing I was looking for something. I used it...without telling her, and then she came here later and saw that I had used it, but not given her credit. So here you are, Angela, thank you ever so much for inspiring me in such a way that no person has before, for giving me hope in a moment of darkness, for giving me a reason to live, for giving me a quote. Rite, so today I was sitting in World Regional Geography looking at the cover of my text book trying to decide if I would end up keeping it or selling it back to the book store--I still haven't decided. As I was gazing however I noticed that at the very top of the cover there were some small words, upon closer inspection I found they said "CD-ROM included" wow...so I turned to the very back inside of the cover, and there right in front of me was a CD with a stupid looking lable...facinating. So I got back to my room after class and poped the sucker in...and you know what?? It's really dumb. It's called "Geotutor v1.0" ...ooohh... well at least I have the most recent edition. So now I'm currently multi-tasking...working on my C++ homework...which is more than anything frustrating, but I think that's because I'm just now learning all the basic things. It tells you that you have errors, but doesn't tell you what they are...I don't approve of that. I'm also listening to all of my U2 MP3's in a random fashion, drinking Mountian Dew, and eating some Lays Potato Chips....now since I've endorsed 4 products, I expect to see my money rolling in shortly. |

Some memories are realities, and are better than anything that can ever happen to one again. Willa Cather |
Wow, I just read what I wrote yesterday, and well, I'm pretty sure it sucked. I guess that's partially due to the fact that it was after 3:00AM, and also that it was a pitty update, I hadn't done it in a while and I just felt like I needed to add something. I enlarged my text also as a result of a suggestion of a reader, and I suppose it does make it a bit easier to read everything. The archives are still small, but they're old, and no one really cares. So I got my new U2 cd in the mail today, and it's pretty good, it's the second CD that was offered for a short time along with the "best of 1980-90" cd, i've listened to it, and i'm satisified with it. More importantly, after ripping the cd it brings my total number of MP3's to 1084. Nice. So I had my really easy computer class today and I learned what RAM and ROM stand for...I had always wondered that before, which I guess is why I bought more RAM, just to see what it was. *sarcasm* |

Home, long Weekend; Music to my ears. 400MHz, 15" monitor; crazy bad non-musical noises to my ears. That's right, home has it's ups and downs, and sometimes I'm glad to be here, other times it's nice to stay at school. This being a long weekend however, it was nice to come home. I went to Opry Mills on Friday with Smiley and Angela, we saw "13 Days" it was quite good...maybe a little long, but good none-the-less. Then I went back to Nashville on Saturday to see my dad who's in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery...all is going well, and he's doing good considering all he's been through. I went to Nashvegas for a third time on Sunday because I had taken my sister down on saturday, and she spent the night with my mom down there, and needed me to come pick her up again. So then we got home, and I didn't do much for a while, then I went over to Smiley's and watched "Seven" very nice movie. So now I get to go to school again tomorrow, and I'm ready...I get to sleep in more then I do here! Plus it's only a four day week...ahhh...glorious! |

Hmmm... I really, really need to get a haircut. Kenny |
School again. At least it's better than it was before. I have an awesome schedule...or at least I think so so far. I've had all my classes now, my first day was monday, and I'm really enjoying them all. The bad thing is that they all have like 45 minutes between them, it's not enough time to really get any food, but it's just enough time to get bored...so I dont' know how that's really going to end up going, but hopefully not too bad. I'm glad to see that people still come to this page even when my updates lag a little bit, but dont' worry, evenutally I get to it, as you can see here. Well, I'm having RAM withdraw, so after only five days of sub-256MB computing, I have decided to buy more on my own, I bought some on ebay last night and sent a money order today. I'm excited, even if you can't tell that I am, I promise you that I am. I'm also happy because I left my parking lot and came back and still had a place to park. They put up a gate that you have to scan your parking pass on to get into the lot, so it cuts down on the people that park here without a pass, and I approve, it does however cause a bit of a hassel, you gotta take the pass off the mirror, open your window...reach your hand out into the cold January air, and wait for this thing to open...oh well, I guess it's a small sacrafice if it can assure me a parking spot, so I don't have to park illegally and get a ticket. OK so to review...things are good...good classes...good parking...and well...umm...good things. |

A bargain is something you cannot use at a price you cannot resist. Unknown |
Last night, Brad, Smiley, and I decided to have a LAN party. I went to the high school, and helped Smiley "borrow" some LAN cards and cables, then about 4:30 Brad came to my house, and we were just surfing waiting for Smiley to get off work, and we found this amazing website dolemite.com. If you've seen any of the dolemite movies, this site will mean much more to you...if you haven't, you'll want to see one of the movies. Any way, we got my compter and my parents computer hooked up using Brad's Hub, then we went next door and borrow Krysta's new 900MHz Compaq, so we had Krysta's 900, my 850, and my parent's measly 400 networked so we could play a variety of FPS games...well...this was about 6:30 when everything was good to go. Smiley and I were going to go to the Rville vs. Logan game, so we decided to do a test run...and it didn't work...the computers couldn't locate each other's games Well, after trying a few more times...we decided to go to the game, and mess with it when we got home--my dad needed his computer to do some stuff on then net anyways, so we needed something to do. Well, we came back to my house after the game--which Rville won--and a bunch of people were parked in mine and Krysta's driveways, because we were having a LAN party...and she was having a more traditional party. Well, she wasn't home yet..so I hurrded people into our family room, where we tried once again to get the LAN going...and nada. So just about then Krysta calls and asks where everyone is...of course, my house...so we all went over there...and Brad Smiley and I were going to get food and then come back and work with the LAN. This was at about 10:00PM, well, we ended up watching dolemite for the second time in three nights, and at about 1:00AM Smiley and Brad went and got Krysta's computer from my house, so the LAN never materialized...oh well, it was a fun standard party...so it was all good. Man...Smiley is building a new computer, and has everything but his new motherboard which is supposedly in the mail...well, since he hasnt' needed it, I've been using his RAM...all 128MB of it...in addition to my own 128MB...and it's soooo nice...256MB RAM is like pure heaven...and I have to give it all up today. He's coming by later to get his back since I'm leaving for school tomorrow...sux. |

The length of time a decapitated head is aware of it's surroundings, according to New Scientist magazine: 15-30 seconds. Interesting... |
Well that's interesting. Sheds a whole new light on death now doesn't it. In today's breaking news segment-which is the first segment of it's kind, and most likely the last...since there's never been one before, and never will be one again...I returned movies to Blockbuster. This has been today's breaking news segment; sponsered as always by: Your Mom. If you have a chance, I would highly reccomend downloading a certian file off of Napster. Simply search for CKY mcdonald's drive thru. It's without a doubt the funniest thing I've heard in a while,...well today at least. If you don't laugh, I'll give you a quarter. |
