Well, it's finally here...bradclark.net is almost fully operational. As of now it is a community news site, which will soon have various writers on the staff, including myself. Right now, however, it is all Brad, and he's doing quite well. Click Here to see the progress.

5:29PM

Well, the band show last night was a dissapointment. We came in third loosing to Warren East and Franklin Simpson. It might not have been so bad if was had gotten a superior, but we didn't. We received several 80's and a couple scores around 78 or 79, but the one score that killed us was a 73.something. It was a visual score, and another visual judge gave us one of the 80's. We were all just mad or confused or dissapointed, but everyone felt so good after the performance. Anyone who saw us play friday night at the football game would probably have been shocked too. People I didn't even know were telling me how good of a job we did that night, but yesterday's show was even better. And still we have very little to show for it. On a positive note, Erin and Melissa won Best Field commander, and the guard received a score of 88, compared to a 78 last week, and a 68 the week before that. So as we all continue to improve, some are improving faster than others...but I still feel we can get our superior, we have 2 more chances before regionals, and believe me, everyone wants it, bad...even moreso now that we came so close this weekend.

12:50PM

Wow, it's been a while since I updated, but I'm doing it now, so I guess it's ok. Let's see, last night was a great night. RHS beat LCHS 24 to 19, for the first time in several years. At half time the band gave it's best public performance of the year. In about 2 hours we leave for a competition at Todd County. Everone realizes what we did last night, and how we have to play today if we expect to win. I think we have a good shot at, dare I say, winning today. But we'll find out tonight for sure.

Sorry about the lack of updates latley...I've been really busy.

2:35PM

I'm getting frustrated with my internet connection, in the past week I've probably lost my connection while being in the middle of something about 30 times; and I don't know why. Well, yesterday the band got a 77.1, 2.9 points shy of a superior... and it's wierd, becuase the performance was definitly worse than the one a week ago, yet our score was quite a bit better. I don't understand why we did so bad, if we had played the way we did in practice this week we would have gotten a superior with no problem. I guess people are just scared or insecure. I used to hate it when seniors would give little speeches at regionals about how this is their last year and how bad they want to go to state, but this is my last year, and I want to go to regionals.

8:41PM

Today, as you can see above, I started a new zone. The Theory Zone, go check it out, it will be changing all the time so it's a must see, and see again. OK...well, not much new stuff happened today, well, maybe it did but I can't remember, or just don't want to write about it, so if you want to know, ask me tomorrow. Hello Steff.

This is the update for today.

9:32PM

Hmm...I didn't update last night like I promised Steff I would, because I told her that I would talk about the bag-boy with glasses that people don't like...well, here ya go Steff. People don't like him. Hmmm...what else is new, I don't know. We got pictures taken in band today for the program, and watched the video of Saturdays performance...overall, it wasn't bad... but the marching went down-hill through the entire show. OK, that's all for now.

12:08AM

OK, here we go. As most of you know, our band is a single A band, meaning we have less than 40 instrumentalists. At todays competition, we marched as a AA band, one with between 41 and 80 instrumentalists. Also, another disadvantage, we were the first band to preform. After our show, we all came off the field feeling great! Mr. Henery was happy, which made us all feel good. At the awards ceremony which began at about 9:25PM (official KMEA time--which was 5 minutes fast--) anywho, they started out with AA awards. They did percussion and music and field commander...ect.. and Hopkinsville Central got most of those... Cumberland got guard I think. We got best visual, which is quite an acheivement, considering that our drill is extremely difficult and our fundamentals have never been our strong point. Everyone was convinced that we would get third, just because we only got one individual award...but I truly wasn't, we did good, very good...and I was right, we got second place in our division. We went back to the busses, and no one cared that we only got two trophies, they were just happy that we beat a AA band. Next week we got to Warren Central and compete aganinst 8 A bands, hopefully we will still have the energy that we had tonight, plus we go last so we have the advantage!...I can't wait!!!

11:51PM

Official 1999 Marching Panthers contest update is in progress...Please be patient.

10:55AM

I have about 3 more hours until I have to be at school to get ready to go to the band competition, I'm excited, I think we'll do pretty good. This morning, I went with my dad to pick up the new band trailer and a Ford F550 desile to tow it with. Wow, that puppy is some serious loudness, and can do 0-60 Mph in about 2 minutes...lol...It's a cool truck, only 2500 miles on it, and it has a dump-bed, but dad wouldn't let me test it. Well, that's all for now, and of course, there will be a complete competition follow-up after I retun home.

10:50PM

Brad got his new news page started, and soon--I hope--I'll be able to submit articles/thoughts/news or whatever to it. You can go see it now, however, in it's early stages. ::::::NOTM::::: News Of The Moment should be very interestin, but the next few weeks will tell for sure. You need to go support it, so go now. I just found out that da'ville beat Ft. Campbell 18-0, improving our record to 2-2. Well, I'm excited about tomorrow's competition, I think we'll do good. I just hope that people don't get too nervous, since it's the first competetion. I've been talking to a girl from cumberland county on ICQ, and she says that they are doing very good. Mr. Henery says that they will be our main competition tomorrow, I guess we'll just have to wait and see who does better...we perform first so we are going to have to do awesome if we hope to win.

9:25PM

Our practice was awesome tonight, we did nothing but run-throughs, like 8 of them total. By the last one everyone was sooo tired, and I could hardly play. It was also cold out, and...at the beverage dispersion area, Summer-Lynn and I had a little water fight, so when we were out there marching the next time, I was freezing!! Whew, I'm more tired than I thought, sitting in this comfy chair makes me want to go to sleep...lol...but alas, I will fight the urge...maybe...

10:03PM

Well, we had an extra long band practice tonight, and a lot of people were mad that he made us stay till about 9:30, but it's not like we don't need the practice. A lot of people have valid complaints, homework, ect... Others, however, were just being difficult. I really hate the attitude some people have about band. I understand that Mr. Henery is not everyone's favorite person in the whole world, but you don't have to give the man death stares when he makes us run a set back. It's our own fault that the practices go long, not his. I think some people need to re-examine the whole band situation. You all came to band camp on July 19th, if you wanted to quit, you shouldn't have come back on the 20th. You have committed yourselves to this program, and complaining about it is only going to make it harder; on all of us. I don't care what you all do next year, but you're in for good this year, so don't complain, it was your own decicion.

1:59PM

Well, it's monday, and there's no school--what could be better!...Fall Break. Well one day is good, I'm not complaining. The first quarter is over, however, so fall break is only 4 and a half weeks away, I can't wait. I've been playing spades a lot at playsite over this long weekend and haven't been keeping the updates regular, I'll try harder in the future. I'm still working on getting some good flash stuff made to put on here, I hope it turns out good....so do Brad Clark and Matt Jones....lol...

11:09AM

Sorry about the lack of an update yesterday, but I was having some problem with my software, it's fixed now and things should be back to normal. Well, last night was not very good, we lost the football game and the band didn't do well at halftime. We had been working so hard to get the entire show on the field by friday, that we did very little work on the first two songs, and a lot of people just lost their confidence. Now that we have the enitre show on the field marching and playing, we should be able to concentrate more on making sure that we really know what we're doing. Hopefully that with several good practices this week we will be able to impress the judges enough at our first competition to win, but that will only come if we work hard.

Brad is supposed to be getting a page started and several people (including myself) will be writing articles and reviews and things of that nature, it should be quite interesting, and I'm looking forward to it. I'll be sure to inform you as soon as it is up and running.

9:41PM

Well, I just got back from band practice, and it was awesome, in my opinion it was the best practice we've ever had. When it got too dark to see the field, everyone with cars there lined them up along the endzones and turned our lights on. It was exciting, and we sounded great! Our entire show is on the field, marching and playing-we are ahead of many other bands in the area. Our first competition is still more than a week away, and I think we are going to give those AA bands a run for their money!---HEY STEFF!!!

8:34PM

Not much happened today, except for the fact that I was once again extremely busy, but that's a given. We are doing quite a bit better in band it seems, the third song is sounding good, and at our first competition we are going to be at Muhlenburg South, and will be marching as a AA band, since there are no other A bands there. Mr. Henery says we are capible of beating them both, I hope we do...I hope we get our distinguished, so we dont' have to worry about that later in the season. I also got a new part in my music that I have to memorize by tomorrow night, because my sets will be changing also, I can deal with that...I hope. Well, today we had a senior meeting in school and I was nominated to run for class president, we vote in a week so wish me luck. There are 7 other people bidding for the same position. I can't beleive I forgot to mention it yesterday, but we had a bomb threat at our school, to read all the details about it-as told by Brad Clark-click here.
