Well, now that
band camp is over, the countdown to school begins. Only
three days of vacation left, I'm not sure if I'm sad
to be going back, but I'm not overly excited either... I
guess I'm somewhere in between. Gosh, it's hot too, here
it is almost 7:00PM and it's still close to 100 degrees
outside! I made a lot of changes to the List Zone
the other day, so go check it out.

8:51PM
Well, it's over.
No more band camp for me...ever! We stopped rehersal
today at about 3:45 so we could clean up the band room,
practice field, and other rooms we practiced in. We are
now down to three seniors...Melissa picked three freshman
to go with her to clean the field, Matt took two freshman
with him to clean Room A and the stage, and I was in
charge of everyone else as they each took a three foot
square section of the band room floor and picked up all
the little pieces of trash, it was fun making everyone
clean while all I did was make sure that they did it
completely. After everything was clean to Mr. Henery's
satisfaction, we all had a piece of cake and then went to
have a watergun fight. The origional plan was to get
the freshman soaking wet then dump flour on them...but
Mr. Henery said we couldn't put flour on the freshman, so
we did the next best thing...we dumped it on him! First,
a couple people took a big cooler of ice cold water and
poured it on him...while he was still in shock...we
dumped the flour...and poof (literally) instant dough-ball.
It was awesome!

Only one day left!
That's right, band camp's almost over. Today there was
more indoor mark-timing, for about two and a half hours,
but at least we wern't soaking wet! Hmmm... what to say,
what to say...??? Well, I guess that's all... for now, check
back tomorrow, for a 'big' update.

Another day, another hump.
That's right, the second band camp hump-day has come and
almost gone... it'a about time! This afternoon, it rained,
it rained a lot... and we marched in it. At about
2:30PM it started to pour-down rain, and we marched in it
for about 10-15 minutes before coming back inside.
We were heavily beveraged upon. My hat, which has four
band camps worth of sweat stains on it...was rinsed
practically clean by all the rain! Tha was kinda fun and
all, but when we came inside afterward, it was extremely
cold, and we practiced music while mark-timing... for
almost 15 whole minutes... in soggy shoes! wooo, what fun.

9:48PM
Today in band camp,
the first thing we did was run laps...as Marcus would say,
"We had to run fifteen minus eleven laps!" That's right, we had
to run four laps, and most people were mad...I was just
out of breath. People were starting to slack off, so he (Mr. Henery)
made us run. All I have to say to band members is
to get there on time from now on, cause I don't want to
run a bunch of laps around the practice field every morning.
Tonight at seven o'clock, there was a band
booster meeting, and I went, it was kinda long, but not too
bad, as far as meetings go.

8:59PM
Hmmm...another slow
day at band camp. Well, Charles, the woodwind instructor,
is gone this week...his replacement, Bob. I suppose Bob
will be ok. We played and marched some sets of the opener
today...it was actually pretty good. So my prediction
stands... I think we will go to state, if we work a little
harder and faster from here on out.

8:21PM
Band camp again tomorrow,
I guess I'm ready to do situps on the parking lot...
I hope we can learn more drill than we have been, it
seems to be going slowly. I've got most of my music
memorized, so that's good. I bought some womanized
beverage to take with me, so that will give me a boost
of energy to learn more drill. Gosh, this summer
is almost over, it's hard to beleive that school starts
in a week and a half! I'm not sure if I'm ready to go
back or not, well, I'm a senior now, so maybe it won't
be so bad. I saw Matt Brown today at church, he doesn't
start back to college till the 30th, lucky him.

Sorry about the lack
of an update yesterday, but I did try, homesite wouldn't open,
so I couldn't make any changes. Band Camp yesterday was fun,
but not very productive. We are learning drill very slowly,
too slowly if you ask me... but the music is starting to sound
quite good, and I am sure it will continue to get even better.
I tried to convince Mr. Henry to let me march the accordian, but
I don't think I'm going to. Oh well, that's all for now.

Well, here it is.
The 'ass wipe' logo turned out quite well, a big
thank you to Matt Jones for making this. OK, Band Camp
was pretty good today...we're coming along quite well,
the freshman are getting a little bit better. I
think we'll do ok this season.
(Playing the game and smokin some helmet.)

Band Camp: Day Three-Hump Day.
Well, freshman officially suck. We did this thing, it was competition between
the classes, there are like a bijillion freshman, about 20 juniors, and 10 sophomores,
and only 4 seniors. So we have a marching contest thing, seniors went first,
all 4 of us, and the main purpose of this was to practice this new lock-step
thing we're doing this year. Our marching, body posture, horn carriage, toes,
ect. were great, however, the lock-step, (which is new to us, so naturally,
it will take some adjusting) was, well, not great. Then the juniors went, then
the sophomores, and finally the freshman. This is there first year marching,
so they're fresh, and don't have to re-learn new things, so they have an advantage
to start. The only thing that they did do right was the lock-step,
and even then, only about three-fourths of them did that right. I mean, I think
the seniors might have won if all we had to of done was 'walk' in a straight
line and do a lock-step every eight steps, not having to concentrate on all
the other important aspects of marching.

10:32PM
Sorry, I didn't update yesterday, but I was extremely
tired, after band camp, which was my fault, because I didn't get enough sleep
the night before. Well, tonight, I'm not as tired, so I am able to make an update.
Today's hot topic at band camp, was the ever popular, 'ass wipe' (commonly known
as the baby wipe) but come on people, we all know what they're really used for,
and that is wiping asses, hence 'ass wipe'. (Matt Jones is currently making
an 'ass wipe' logo to be placed on this page.)
And annother thing, situps on concrete hurt your ass.

Today's update.

11:19PM
This morning I helped stripe the field for band
camp, it was kinda fun, but it took a while to do, and a lot of paint. Erin
and I were painting the numbers on the yard lines, and she did the first on,
the 20, and it looked quite good, I did the 25, and it was about 10 inches bigger
than hers, and each one after that gets progressivly larger, but it's not too
bad.

11:36PM
Well, lets see. There's not much to report today.
I'm actually looking forward to band camp on Monday, I think it will be fun,
but I'll probably change my mind after an hour of camp. I went swimming today,
and watched tv, not much happened, oh I went to Houchens, too(they have soup).

8:52PM
There was a good turn out at the meeting tonight,
and everyone got a chance to meet the new band director, he seems excited about
being the band director, and I think with a little work we will do quite well
this season. Marcus, Kyle, matt, Erin, Calista, and I praciticed marching on
the grass in front of the band room, wow, fun huh?! Oh well, it was kinda fun,
we got to yell stuff! so it was worth it.
4:44PM
Last night, or maybe it was this morning I added
some music to the start page, if you've bookmarked this page, and would like
to hear the improvements, click here. Tonight is the
meeting with Mr. Henry, the new band director, so there will, of course, be
a full update following the meeting. Be sure to check back later tonight for
that info.

9:57PM
Well, the letter finally came, and in the letter,
it gave the dates for guard camp...two weeks ago! Excuse me? who is this going
to help? Oh well, at least we got the letters. That's going to wrap it up for
this evening, so, until tomorrow...

A new band director has been hired. His name is Gregg Henry, he is 29 years
old and before going back to college to get a degree in music education, he
was an RN. There will be a meeting on Thursday, July 15th at 7:00PM in the RHS
band room for all band students and their parents, so that he can meet all of
us prior to the first day of band camp. It is strongly reccomended that you

Hmmm... I dont' know about you guys that are in
band, but I have not yet received my letter about band, perhaps it will come
tomorrow. Oh well, I'm happy to see that my guestbook signage performance has
greatly improved, thank you all for your participation. Geez, I wish something
exciting would happen, I'm bored. Well, that is all for now... I will begin
updating NOTD on a daily basis again, I hope. So, come back tomorrow!

Well, no new band info, except that everyone should
recive a letter by the end of the week, about what's going on. Well, that's
it for today, not too much has been going on lately, oh yeah, one thing, today,
I went swimming. That is all.

Official 1999 Marching Panthers Band Camp Update.
As of now, rookie camp is cancelled. The woodwind rehersal on July 13th is cancelled.
The brass rehersal on July 15th is cancelled. Band camp will start
on July 19th at 8:00AM as planned. At this time I do not have definite information
on guard and percussion camp, however, you should not assume it is cancelled,
the instructors for both of these are still planning to instruct. I will post
any new info as soon as I become aware of it. -Kenny Fyhr; Band President
4:17PM
Well, it's Big Willy Weekend once again! Yeah,
whatever, I just felt like saying that. There are a few topics which I would
like to discuss; first, The Guestbook. Last week, when by the way, I wasnt'
even in Russellville, over 50 people visited my webpage, but not one of them
signed my guestbook! I am aware that other people have had this same problem
and I can't understand why. It's not like it's a time-consuming process, I mean
it take 5 minutes, tops; I know, I've signed them before. So next time you come
to my page, please sign the guestbook!
Also, on a lighter note, well not exactly lighter, but better, and less harsh,
I got my new AAA Plus card yesterday, so now I can feel free to run out of gas
anywhere on the highways I want and know that free gas is just a phone-call
away.
I am also in the process of writing a new review for the highly anticipated
bradclark.com, it promises to rank right up there with Krisis Over Krogers,
so be sure to check it out when the site is up-and-running!

Well today I got back from summer camp, where it
rained every day, and I am tired. Well I am very pleased to see the number of
people who have been visiting my site, and I'm sorry that I was unable to keep
this Zone up-to-date, but now that I'm back things will be better.
